Join us for a memorable celebration as we reflect on the incredible journey of our class. Experience highlights from our school days and reconnect with old friends.
In 1973, San Clemente High School and Dan Hills High School split, with students from the San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, and Laguna Niguel area being divided between the two schools, Prior to this, all students from this area attended San Clemente High School. The split affected the classes of 1974, 1975, and 1976, as their junior and sophomore years were split between the two schools, with the freshman class of 1977 being the first to be entirely split. This separation led to emotional goodbyes and a sense of loss for many students who had been together since Marco Forester Junior High.
There was the time in the early '70s, when a dead dolphin was hoisted up the school flagpole at Dana Hills High School. San Clemente students allegedly had found the dolphin during a harbor cleanup and wanted to zing their crosstown rivals, the Dolphins.
On Saturday, April 20, 1971, when we were freshmen, The Four Muses, promoted a concert in the SCHS cafeteria with Linda Ronstadt. What also makes this such a milestone, both Glenn Frey and Don Henley were in her back-up band. She performed two shows. Tickets were $5!
San Clemente High School was not immune from national trends, and streaking took place on its campus several times during 1975. This usually happened at lunch time when there were plenty of spectators standing around. One time, a single male streaker (name withheld) ran through the campus straight into a waiting police car.
Other:
